I Did A Thing Last Month

I didn’t even see it coming, but I completed and published my first book.

In 2015, I embarked on an epic journey from a suburb of Chicago to California and back…on a motorcycle. I won’t recount the story of how the impossible became possible here, but the result of this ride was my first book, Love’s Travels . Since writing a book wasn’t a part of the plan, I am glad I had the foresight to take notes and lots of pics to reflect my stories. The question is, what do you do with a self-published work?

Honestly, I didn’t have a clue. Initially I thought about friends and family, and perhaps some couples I knew who would find the “Rest Stops” at the end of each story good for creating solutions and finding new passion. However, what I couldn’t have imagined was that I would agree to be a featured author at the International Book Fair in London (April 2023). I would love to say this resulted in the negotiations of a publishing contract, perhaps at the next one, but what it did do was raise my expectation for doing greater things in my life. There will be other book fares, I am certainly interested, but what I love the most is how my perspective about what I have to offer has completely shifted. I went from being afraid to ride, to writing a book about it, to being featured on an international platform, and at each stage of this progression, it only took a bold, YES, to bring about seemingly unattainable things, and it’s only just begun. There is more to this story, but it is still being written, so look for a part 2 in a few months.
