REFRESH YOURSELF!

While I was browsing for pictures that contained the ingredients in our Do Not Disturb Relief Balm, I came across this amazing recipe from First Day of Home, for Lavender Lemonade, with a twist (Recipe Below). The beneficial properties in the lavender, peppermint and lemon found in this recipe is also used in our relief balm, so I have included a few details about how they relieve and refresh you.

Mint Leaves - are know for relieving allergies, headache and muscle tension, and stress. It can aid in reducing nausea, improving mental clarity, as well as soothe and cool your skin. It is also a natural bug repellent!

Lavender - is said to relieve anxiety, thus creating a calming affect. It is also known to be a natural antihistamine and has strong anti-inflammatory properties aiding and relieving most allergic reactions. Lavender acts as a wonderful sleep aid, promotes wound healing and It too drives away pesky bugs.

Lemon - is know to help various skin conditions because of is anti-bacterial properties. In addition it can uplift the spirit and create a sense of calm. Lemon also repels mosquitoes and other critters.

So, go ahead, glide on our Do Not Disturb Moisture Balm and enjoy the outdoors as you drive away those allergies, the stress, and the mosquitoes this season (It smells AMAZING). And while your at it, sip on some of this amazing Lavender and Mint Lemonade.

Ingredients

6 cups water (divided)

1 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons dried (culinary) lavender buds

3/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 7 lemons)

8-10 mint leaves (optional)

Lavender Simple Syrup

Bring 2 cups of water to boil. Remove from heat and pour over sugar. Stir until dissolved. Stir in dried lavender buds and let steep for at least 1 hour (or up to 2 hours for stronger flavor).

 Lemonade

Combine juice from lemons and lavender simple syrup in a pitcher. Add the remaining 4 cups of water and stir well. Optional: Add 8-10 leaves of fresh mint and let sit overnight for added flavor. Garnish with sprigs of lavender, mint and lemon slices.
